Verizon released the new edition of BlackBerry Storm on Friday after months of wide speculations.  Numerous long lines of prospective buyers formed outside Verizon Wireless Communications Stores nationwide from California to New York and other states early in the morning waiting to be the first to buy the world's first "clickable" touch screen Blackberry.

Although the long waited Blackberry has become instantly popular among existing subcribers of the communication giant, media said that not many units are actually available on the market.  The company encouraged those who are interested to get online and make their purchase their online stores.  And the product can be shipped in next few days.

The Research In Motion (RIM)'s first touch screen BlackBerry could apparently be a real iphone killer as many people believe.   The new device comes with many new yet slick features, but its uniqueness lies reportedly in how it uses touch, the feature called SurePress. RIM said subscribers need to use the software keyboard just like they use a hardware keyboard and they have to press the screen down in order to make a selection. This design gives users a feeling that no incidents would occur unintentionally.

All the features are listed as follows cited directly from Verizon Storm.

The major features that come with the new version of BlackBerry Storm:

S urePress Touch Screen: Take touch to a whole new level. The hi-resolution 3.25" screen uses groundbreaking touch and click response functionality so you can feel your selections as you make them.

Global Capabilities: Stay connected while you travel.   Use our Global Phone and Global Email services to make calls, access emails and browse the internet in the US or aboard.
